Earth Hour

Earth Hour

Earth Hour was initiated in Sydney, Australia in 2007 and has grown to a global project to express support for action on climate change.  In 2008, 50 million people around the world turned off their lights for 1 hour on the last Saturday of March.  The goal this year is to raise that to 1 billion.  See global information at http://www.earthhour.org/

KAIROS has produced worship materials for those wishing to join with others in a prayerful observance of Earth Hour.  For more ideas as well as some beautiful promotional posters see http://www.kairoscanada.org/en/get-involved/earth-hour/

This community event is not affiliated with Faith Connections, but we believe it to be of specific interest to young adults aged 18-39 and with a faith-based or social justice theme. However, we can be mistaken — if you're not sure this event will meet your expectations, please check with the event organizers.
