40 Days of Life Campaign
This spring, from February 25th – April 5, 2009, Toronto will be uniting with
dozens of other cities across North America – and around the world – for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history – the 40 Days for Life campaign. People of all Christian denominations are praying that this effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion, 24 hours a day.
40 Days for Life is a non denominational focused pro-life campaign that has
generated measurable lifesaving results in more than 200 cities where it has been implemented. It has lead to a significant drop in abortions on almost all locations, and in some places such as the State of North Dakota to the closing of all
The 40 Days for Life campaign is made up of three key components:
• Prayer and Fasting: inviting people of faith throughout our city to join together for 40 days of fervent prayer and fasting for an end to abortion (This is a spiritual battle, and some demons can only be driven out by prayer & fasting)
• Peaceful Vigil: standing for life through a 40-day peaceful public witness outside of an abortion facility *Toronto Location is on the corner of Lawrence/
Dufferin (960 Lawrence)
• Community Outreach: taking a positive, upbeat pro-life message to every
corner of our city through media efforts, church presentations, petition drives,
and public visibility
Preliminary planning meeting: Feb. 17th at St. Michael's Choir School, 66 Bond St. at 7 PM Enter under the clock tower.
A kick off rally will be held at St. Michael's Cathedral, Toronto, on Sunday 22 February, 4 pm. Let's show Toronto that the abortion issue is not settled and will never be until the preborn have the same right to life as the postborn, and that abortion harms not only the preborn child, but all involved, and the entire community.
