Pray for the Land - Ardoch Algonquin First Nation

Pray for the Land with the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation (AAFN)
October 25 & 26, 2008
Algonquin Territory at Robertsville Mine (80 kms north of Kingston, ON)

Since the Spring of 2007, land within the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation homeland has been destroyed by a uranium exploration company in preparation for deep core drilling. A Court order has kept the Ardoch Algonquins from entering onto the land to protect it and Ontario politicians have ignored their duty to consult with the First Nation. Charges against the company, for environmental damages, were withdrawn with no explanation.

As an expression of their concern for the land, the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation has called for two days of prayer on October 25 & 26. All people and every faith are called to participate.

All people have a sacred connection to the land. Let us join together in solidarity and pray that our children and grand-children can walk on the good earth as we have.
