Walking Pilgrimage to St. Michael's Cathedral
WALKING PILGRIMAGE IN HONOUR OF 160TH ANNIVERSARY OF ST. MICHAEL'S CATHEDRAL
Saturday, September 27th, 2008
The Office of Catholic Youth (OCY) is organizing a walking pilgrimage to St. Michael's Cathedral in celebration of the its 160th anniversary. Parish youth groups will be organizing pilgrimages from their churches to the cathedral to arrive in time for the 5:00 pm Mass in honour of our patron St. Michael the Archangel. The mass will be celebrated by His Grace, Archbishop Collins. For parishes located too far away, the Office of Catholic Youth/Newman Centre will serve as a starting point. Those who plan to start from the OCY are asked to arrive by 2:00 PM. Following the Mass at the cathedral, a huge outdoor party with music, food, beverages and birthday cake will follow. This will also be an opportunity for pilgrims of the International Eucharistic Congress, WYD Australia, and WYD Midland to reunite.
We encourage all youth ministers and their groups to book off September 27 and to participate in this Archdicesan celebration of our cathedral and patron saint!
