Event Date:
Monday, September 19, 2016 - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Faith Connections, the Office of Catholic Youth, and the local parishes invite young adults (19-39) to join us for an evening of thought-provoking conversation on theological topics! Munchies provided, cash bar available - come and bring a friend!
Special guest: Fr. Mario Salvadori, Pastor of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

NOTE: BRING A CATHOLIC BIBLE TO THIS THEOLOGY ON TAP TALK.

ARE YOU AWARE THAT THERE ARE MANY “VERSIONS” OF JESUS THAT ARE BEING TAUGHT TODAY IN PARISHES, SCHOOLS, FAMILIES AND CULTURE? The biblical accuracy of these versions vary. Some versions are legit. Other versions can be described as limited, watered-down, politically correct, boring or half-baked. Auxiliary Bishop Robert Barron of Los Angeles describes these “limited” versions of Jesus as some people’s attempt to “domesticate” Him.

ARE YOU AWARE THAT JESUS GAVE “COMMANDMENTS”? Many Catholic Christians limit themselves to following the 10 Commandments given to Moses. For those who calls themselves His “disciples”, Jesus raises the bar beyond the 10 Commandments.

ARE YOU AWARE THAT JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED BECAUSE HE WAS HATED? “Nice" guys don’t usually get crucified. What Jesus said, taught and did made him a threat so extreme to the leaders of his time that they decided to kill him. In some people’s attempt to make Jesus palatable today, they tend to skip over the “tough” teaching and actions that got Him crucified.
