Christ and Culture: The Artist

Event Date:
Wednesday, August 19, 2015 - 8:20pm

A chance for young adults (18-39) to engage culture from the perspective of the nature and person of Jesus!

Each of our Christ and Culture events are designed to open our eyes to the world of God's beauty as expressed in every person. With that in mind, we will discuss and open our hearts to Christ in one another.

This event will be held at TIFF in the Park in David Pecaut Square. We'll meet in front of the Royal Alexandra Theatre at 260 King St W at 8:20pm sharp. (If you miss us there, look for the Faith Connections sign in the park.)

We'll watch The Artist, a loving tribute to silent films which won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Professor Sherry Coman from the University of Toronto will be talking about how to fully immerse ourselves into the culture of a silent film, and we will discuss the moral and theological issues this film brings up.

There is no seating, so you may wish to bring a chair or blanket and snacks if desired!

RSVPs appreciated — contact John-Paul Markides at or phone 416-467-2645.
