Newman Centre: Raising Faith-Filled Kids Group

Event Date:
Saturday, April 5, 2014 - 9:00am - 12:00pm

Married couples and parents with young children (kids welcome!) are invited to:

Lenten Recollection: Teaching our children to live simply

"All the goods that we have, the Lord gives them to us to advance the world, to advance humanity, to help others." (Pope Francis)

Lent invites us to examine how we use the time, talent and treasure God has given our families. How do we teach our children about living simply? How do we provide for our children's needs while avoiding a sense of entitlement? How can we use our gifts to help others?

The talk will be given by Fr. Frank Portelli, Director, Office of Catholic Youth, followed by Benediction, prayer time and the opportunity for Confession. We will end with a practical activity and tools to help us plan financially from a Christian perspective. This will be led by Charles Min and Annie Dang, Newman parishioners and financial consultants.

There is no cost to attend this event but we will be collecting free-will offerings to support this ministry.

RSVP requested by emailing by Wednesday April 2.
