Faith Connections' THEOLOGY ON TAP: Faith and Civic Engagement

Event Date:
Monday, March 24, 2014 - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
All young adults (19-39) are invited to join us for an evening of thought-provoking conversation on theological topics!
Special guest: Toronto City Councillor Joe Mihevc.

The presentation will focus between faith and civic engagement – How does faith call us to civic engagement? How does civic engagement grow our faith life? Councillor Mihevc will share some concrete examples that demonstrate how faith in action helps to build neighbourhoods and cities.

Joe Mihevc (Ward 21, St. Paul’s West) has served the midtown area of Toronto as City Councillor and Deputy Mayor for the former City of York and City Councillor for the new City of Toronto for over two decades. He has a deep concern for social issues, advocates for community engagement and capacity building, supports a healthy environment, believes in responsible financial management and leads on progressive public policies. Joe has a M.A. and Ph.D. in Theology and Social Ethics.
