Peace and Justice Studies Conference

Event Date:
Thursday, October 17, 2013 - 9:00am - Saturday, October 19, 2013 - 5:00pm

The Sisters of St. Joseph would like to offer you the opportunity to attend the upcoming 2013 Peace and Justice Studies Association Conference to be held in Waterloo October 17-19, 2013. This is an academic think tank conference. There will be two Sisters attending in addition to Leah Watkiss (a young adult herself, who works as the Sister’s Program Director of “Ministry for Social Justice, Peace, and Care of Earth”).

"Peace Studies between Tradition and Innovation" http://www.peacejusticestudies.org/conference/

The Sisters are offering to pay the conference entrance fee for three young adults to attend (this does not include transportation and accommodation costs).

If you are attending we will ask that you share some of what you learned with us and the Fontbonne community. Together we can discuss how you might do this (such as writing a blog entry for the Faith Connections website, making a small presentation to staff or sisters, etc).

If you are interested please contact us as soon as possible. Call Vanessa Nicholas-Schmidt by phone: 416-467-2645, or e-mail: faithconnections@csj-to.ca

This community event is not affiliated with Faith Connections, but we believe it to be of specific interest to young adults aged 18-39 and with a faith-based or social justice theme. However, we can be mistaken — if you're not sure this event will meet your expectations, please check with the event organizers.
