Event Date:
Tuesday, March 26, 2013 - 7:00pm

This series of lectures on the Second Vatican Council with a presentation on The Council and the Bible by Fr. Gordon Rixon, SJ, of Regis College. Fr. Rixon, Dean and Theology Professor at Regis, will discuss the dramatic way in which the Council embraced new approaches to the study and teaching of scripture and what that has meant for the Church over the last 50 years. New efforts in bible research, scripture-centered homilies, music and prayer, and new translations of the ancient texts are all outcomes of the work of the Council. Fr. Rixon’s presentation will also include a display and explanation of the rare and beautiful new St. John’s Bible owned by Regis.
