Is God still relevant in issues of poverty alleviation?

Canadians, in general, feel it is the state that is responsible for the welfare of its citizens. At the same time Christian NGOs are consistently under pressure to reduce the visibility of their faith background in order to appeal to a wide audience, and therefore do more good. Has God been squeezed out of the equation?

In September 2000, Neil Hetherington made a radical career change by joining Habitat for Humanity Toronto; at the time as the youngest CEO of a Habitat affiliate in the world. Neil holds degrees or certificates from University of Western Ontario - Huron College, Seneca College, Harvard Business School and the University of Virginia - Darden Business School. Full bio.
