Maggie Fitzgerald, has a dream. At 31, waitressing, from a dysfunctional loser family, most people would say Maggie doesn’t have a prayer. Maggie wants to become a boxer. She convinces Frankie Dunn, an experienced, hardened trainer to take her on as coach and manager. Maggie and Frankie both get more than they bargained for. Maggie becomes a very successful boxer—which comes to a quick end.

The purpose of Faith & Film Evenings is to encourage theological reflection on movies: increasing media literacy and our ability to see culture through the eyes of faith.
