An Evening of Lenten Reflection: Food for Body and Soul

Food is part of the relationships between us, the Earth, and God. "Fruit of the Earth and the work of human hands," food nourishes us both physically and spiritually. A physical and spiritual appreciation of our daily bread is essential.

  • Can we hear the passion of Jesus in the cry of Earth and the cycles
of food production and distribution, consumption, hunger, waste and
    destroyed ecosystems?
  • Can our production and consumption of food become more Eucharistic?
  • Can we act differently to foster healing for our human family and our Earth?

Special guest: Fr. Jim Profit, S.J., Executive Director of the Ignatius Jesuit Centre of Guelph, home to 240 hectares of farmland, wetlands and woods, an organic farm, an ecology and agriculture ministry, and Loyola House Retreat and Training Centre. Fr. Jim has led retreats and workshops on agriculture, climate change, eco-spirituality and the greening of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.

Refreshments will be provided. Suggested donation: $5. RSVP appreciated. Contact: Vanessa Nicholas-Schmidt at 416-2221426 ext 276, e-mail faithconnections@csj-to.ca
