Jam Reggae Opera
JAM REGGAE OPERA is the Caribbean’s first spectacular opera combining the rhythms and sounds of Jamaica with sensational dance and high drama. With the cast of 30, supplemented by local talent from Toronto, this production has played to outstanding reviews in Florida and Jamaica.
The story takes place in the strife ridden inner city of Kingston, Jamaica. Fr. Luke faces on a daily basis the cruel lack of forgiveness in life. Written by Fr. Richard Ho Lung, this is a story of redemption, perseverance and love. It’s a story of truth, somewhat autobiographical, and wholly about the life he is living.
The production will be playing at the Ryerson Theatre, 43 Gerrard Street East, Toronto. (www.ryerson.ca/theatre) Show times are Saturday, October 31 at 7:00pm and Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 & 6:30pm.
Contribution: $45 (adult) - $25 (student). For group discount please contact Friends of the Poor at 905-940-2606.
