Conscience and the Good of Society Symposium

On October 3, 2009 the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute and the Catholic Civil Rights League will host "Conscience and the Good of Society." This one-day symposium will explore how the formation and exercise of conscience are moral imperatives of every helping professional, and thus, should continue to be recognized as legitimate and necessary practice in their corresponding professional codes of conduct. By reaffirming the formation and exercise of conscience, professionals continue to contribute to the good of society, and to deepen ethical reflection and practice.

"Conscience and the Good of Society" will be of special relevance for health
care professionals, lawyers, educators, civil officials, and any one interested
in human rights policies.

Keynote speaker: Iain Benson, Senior Associate Counsel, Miller Thomson LLP
