A Faith Connections update

Sr. Mechtilde O'MaraSr. Mechtilde O'Mara wrote the following article about recent developments at Faith Connections for the Fontbonne Ministries newsletter, and we thought we would share it here as well. She writes:

The appointment of Kelly Bourke as the Interim Program Director has been an important development since the last Fontbonne Ministries newsletter. Kelly has worked  in chaplaincy in Secondary Schools and at Newman, and served as President of the Student Body at Regis College while studying theology. If you visit Morrow Park you will see her in her office on the 1D corridor. Do stop in to welcome her if you have not already done so.

Theology of the Body in Relationships

Leah Perrault and Brett Salkeld, authors of How Far Can We Go? A Catholic Guide to Sex and Dating, launched the Theology on Tap season with a September 20, 2010 presentation on "Theology of the Body in Relationships" based on the teachings of Pope John Paul II.

Combining food and faith

The Catholic Register writes: "The popular novel Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert first inspired a motion picture — now it’s inspired a group for young adults to explore the spiritual side of eating.

"Run by Faith Connections, the young adult ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph, a group of eight will meet bi-monthly to share a meal together and embark on a spiritual growth journey in a program called “Eat, Pray, Share.” Broken up into six sessions, the program began Sept. 29 and runs until Dec. 8, with a seventh session planned as outreach to those who are hungry."

Sisters of St. Joseph’s service legacy lives on through Fontbonne Ministries
