Habemus Papam, habemus domum

It has been an exciting week for Faith Connections! It was with great enthusiasm that we followed the conclave and the election of Pope Francis. We join with the Holy Father in welcoming a renewed focus on the poor, peace and creation as suggested by his name and his recent public appearances. On the vespers of the Papal election, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto moved from Morrow Park to their new home. The Toronto Star writes, "The striking new structure snakes along the edge of the Don Valley ravine at the juncture of Broadview Ave. and O’Connor Dr. It is a marvel of modernity, built to the highest standards of environmental sensitivity: solar panels, rain-collection barrels, geothermal heating and cooling, a green roof and even permeable pavers in the parking lot to reduce water runoff... The four-storey building, designed by the esteemed architectural firm of Shim-Sutcliffe, is already being heralded as a significant contribution to Canadian architecture."
