It is back to school time for Vanessa... and a warm welcome for Kelly

Vanessa Nicholas-Schmidt:

It has been a number of years since the back-to-school advertisements have caught my attention.  I remember as a student having butterflies in my stomach when I saw those ads – nervous about new teachers, excited about seeing friends, sad to see summer ending, looking forward to learning ... Well the butterflies are back!

As many of you know, I will be taking an eight month leave from my position as Faith Connections Program Director to pursue full time Theological Studies at Regis College, University of Toronto.  I will be away from September 11, 2010 through April 2011.  I look forward to connecting with all of you again when I return to Faith Connections.

I know that Kelly, with her warm hospitality and extensive experience, will be a great Program Director.

Kelly Bourke:

I am excited to be joining the Faith Connections Team as Program Director while Vanessa is on leave. Though I was raised and began ministry in Southern Alberta, I now call Ontario home. I greatly enjoy photography, pottery, walking adventures and laughing (yes, I think this should be considered an activity on its own!). With a strong background in youth and young adult ministries - including retreats, small groups, conferences, leadership training, and chaplaincy - I will work to sustain and build on the important initiatives of Faith Connections.  I look forward to working in this ministry and to connecting with all of you!
