The Right to Life Association of Toronto is seeking an energetic, well-rounded professional to lead our Association to the next level. The ideal candidate is inspired by our cause, action-oriented, and can build on our solid foundation for the future.
Fundraising:Plan, implement and grow our direct mail, major gifts, planned giving, corporate giving. Ensure appropriate stewardship of all giving plansCultivate relationships with key donors.Maintain our existing fundraisers and review for areas of improvementResearch and develop new fundraising events Identify and develop grant proposals.Develop annual plan, goal and budget for the operations of the Association
Speakers Bureau Development:Through solicitation of schools, churches, and other groups to obtain opportunities for formal presentations.To build strong, vibrant networks with teachers, pastors and other leaders within communities needing to receive a pro-life message.
Oversight of Office Staff: Train, hire and manage office staff where needed.
Volunteer Management: Recruit, build and manage teams of volunteers for the Speakers Bureau and for fundraising campaigns by providing an environment that nurtures the growth and development of individuals. Media InvolvementWrite press releases, letters to the editor and be available for television, radio or print media interviews.Work with the media to promote educational and fundraising events.
Newsletter and Web-site Editing: Provide timely, interesting and educational content for the quarterly newsletter and web site. This will include writing and gathering relevant articles and news items in accordance with current standards.
Reporting: Prepare monthly progress reports for the Board of Directors. Duties and responsibilities that do not constitute a substantial change in responsibilities may be added or changed at the discretion of the Board of Directors, either orally or in writing.
Professional:High degree of knowledge of the pro-life issues, including stem cell research, the human reproductive technologies, euthanasia, chastity and abortion. University degree or higher.Strong public speaking skills.A professional image.Strong written, and analytical skills.Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with volunteers and Boards.Ability to solve problems, to prioritize/organize multiple tasks and projects, to work independently and with a team.
