Engaging Canadians in action for change, DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE educates the public to the causes of poverty and injustice in the world.

Responsibilities:
The Youth Program Officer is responsible for maintaining, coordinating and developing youth programming. He or she directs their work to increasing youth participation in the organization. The work involves: developing and consolidating strategic alliances with other youth organizations; producing and distributing material specifically directed to young people; developing draft budget for specific projects with his or her team and ensure follow-up.

Qualifications:
• University degree in social science, adult education, education, communications or the equivalent. Master (asset); • Four years of relevant experience (planification and implantation of activities for and with youth) Work experience with volunteers. • Command of written and oral French and English. Spanish, Portuquese (asset) • Mastery of Microsoft Office XP (Outlook, Word, Excel); • Mastery of Multimedia Programs (PowerPoint, MovieMaker, Publisher, etc.); • Knowledge of social, economic, political, religious and cultural issues in Canada; • Knowledge of international development issues; • Knowledge of the Church and its involvement with social justice and international development; • Very good research capacities, sense of analysis and good writing skills; • Good creative capacities and excellent judgment; • Work autonomy and efficiency; • Available to travel in Canada and for occasional evening and weekend work.
